Leicester City moved to second of the English Premier League table momentarily following their 2-0 win over Arsenal with Jamie Vardy and James Maddison on the scoresheet.
The Foxes arrived into the tie with an impressive home record having won eight of their last 11 home Premier League games while Arsenal's sorry away record saw them keep just two clean sheets in their last 24 away league games.
Leicester started the game with much intent but Arsenal quickly grew into the game with both sides trading early chances but none failed to capitalize on the opportunities, in particular, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and James Maddison.
Arsenal should have broken the deadlock in the 14th minute when Mesut Ozil switched play to Bellerin on the right to cut the ball back to Aubameyang, whose shot cannoned off Ndidi and fell to Lacazette, who tried to chip into the unguarded right-hand side of the goal but his effort went wide.
Leicester's best chance of the first half came right at the depth when Ben Chilwell who has been exceptional for the Foxes this season whipped in one of his trademark crosses but Barnes attempted a strange header that instead hit his face from six yards out as the opportunity fizzled out.
The Foxes went close again just four minutes into the second half when Ricardo Pereira received the ball from Perez and got to the byline to pull one back for Ndidi, as the Nigerian sidefooted towards the top left but the ball bounced off the crossbar and away.
Arsenal's defense finally crumbled under the incessant pressure from Leicester when Pereira made ground down the right and found Barnes, just inside the box. Barnes flicked the ball to Tielemans, who rolled a first-time pass across the face of goal, setting up Vardy to fire it into the bottom left in the 68th minute.
Leicester doubled their lead in the 75th minute when Vardy got onto Praet’s pass to pull the ball back for Maddison, who shifted his feet with a super-fast shuffle and immediately fired a low shot into the bottom left for his fourth goal of the season.
Leicester City next travel to face Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday 23rd November after the international break while Arsenal will look to pick themselves up against Southampton on the same day.
