Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer has reportedly been ruled out for two months after sustaining a calf injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sky Sports confirms.
Steer underwent a scan on Monday morning after the club was under the impression that he may have ruptured his Achilles but the scan cleared him.
The 27-year-old was handed his first Premier League appearance of the ongoing season after first-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton got injured..
Steer was replaced by third-choice keeper Orjan Nyland, as Villa went on to lose the much-anticipated fixture.
Steer joined Villa from Norwich in 2013. He spent the first half of last season on loan at Charlton before being recalled. He played the remainder of the season for Villa as they were promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs.
