Following reports that a section of the Arsenal squad is unhappy with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being captain, Alexandre Lacazette has insisted that the Gabonese will be an excellent captain.
Aubameyang angrily denied on social media there was any unrest in the squad due to his social media activity and insisted he had the right to interact with anyone he pleased.
In an interview with the club's official portal, Lacazette denied rumors of concerns with Aubameyang's captaincy, "It’s a good thing because he’s a leader on the pitch.
"I think he has the capacity to be a really good captain. Then also he was the second in command when it came to the captaincy, so it was a natural move forward."
Arsenal will be looking to overturn their poor run of form after the international break when they meet Southampton Saturday, November 23 at the Emirates Stadium.
