Flick to remain as Bayern Munich coach until winter break

Bayern Munich chief executive officer Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has announced interim coach Hansi Flick will remain as the club's head coach at least until winter break.

Rummenigge announced the news at Munich's Annual General Meeting where he confirmed Flick will continue as the club's interim coach until further notice. The club's CEO although revealed that the Bundesliga giants have stopped short of offering the 54-year-old a permanent contract.

"Last Saturday, Uli Hoeness, Hasan Salihamidzic and I publicly announced that Hansi Flick is our head coach 'until further notice.' And since we don't want to be asked every Saturday whether Hansi will be our head coach for the next match, I'll tell you, dear members: 'until further notice' means Hansi Flick will bear responsibility in terms of sport at least until Christmas, and potentially beyond," he said.

"Flick has an "impressive concept of training and tactics. His handling of the players is very good, and we like his pleasant demeanor. I'm telling you with absolute conviction: We trust Hansi Flick," he added.

Bayern have won two out of two matches under Flick. They beat Olympiacos 2-0 in the Champions League to seal a spot in the Round of 16, before last weekend's 4-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
