The English Premier League, and other top European leagues, are on a two-week break as players linked up with the national teams for international duties, with action set to resume next weekend.
12 matches have been played so far in the league, with Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne leading the pack with nine assists, five ahead of the nearest challenger.
The Belgian has been phenomenal for City this campaign and is aiming to replicate his form when he won the award in the 2017/18 season when he notched 16 assists.
Dip in form
De Bruyne has however dipped in form in recent matches, grabbing a single assist in the last five matches compared to eight in the opening seven matches.
He will come up against sterner opponents after the international break, starting with Chelsea before facing Manchester United and Arsenal.
City will also travel to face Newcastle United and Burnley, in what can offer some hope for the chasing pack of catching up with him.
His closest challengers have all managed four assists, with the likes of Andrew Robertson and David Silva among the pack.
Harvey Barnes and Robertson seem to be hitting form for their clubs and have assisted thrice in the last four matches respectively.
