Olwethu Nyembe has become an Absa Premiership footballer for Cape Town City at the age of 18.
City’s new coach Jan Olde Riekerink was appointed last month with a reputation for developing young talent in places like his Netherlands homeland, China and Turkey.
The club known as the Citizens came out on social media to reveal what they titled as “Dream Club Graduate makes history.”

Nyembe, who plays his agme as a central midfielder, becomes the second Nyanga-born player at City after Zukile Kewuti (24). The club have also had former central midfielder Siyabonga Dubula from Delft who now plays in the NFD for Richards Bay.
The young Nyembe is with the first team squad and may make his debut tonight against Bloemfontein Celtic in the Free State.
