Liverpool FC have cherished a visit from South African Rugby legend & World Cup champion Siya Kolisi.
Kolisi was captured by Liverpool right in the middle of Anfield last night. The occasion was Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League game against Napoli.
The Port Elizabeth-born player revealed how being at Anfield was a realization of his long-time fantasy. "Howsit guys, it's Siya Kolisi. I am here at Anfield, super excited. It's always been a dream of mine," Kolisi said in the video that Liverpool shared online.
"Thank you to Liverpool for getting me here and inviting me. I think we're going to win today. Probably, I think 2-0 - I believe strongly in the boys.”
"Watch the game. See you guys. Thank you so much Anfield,” added the Springbok leader.
The Reds played to a 1-1 draw and left Jurgen Klopp's team needing to win their final group game against RedBull Salzburg to make the UCL final 16.
The invite to England followed after Kolisi had met the club’s manager Klopp in Cape Town a fortnight ago. Additionally, leading English publications took the opportunities to have quick chats with the World Champion.
"This was one of the highlights. He is such an amazing human being and I understand why the boys play so hard for him [Klopp]," Kolisi told Sky Sports.
"He came and greeted every single person at the table and spoke to me for over 40 minutes. When I saw him I fell off my chair! Everyone around me didn't understand but I've got huge respect for him,” concluded the 28-year-old Kolisi.
Up next for Liverpool is a visit from Brighton & Albion on Saturday at Anfield.
