Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante has indicated he is happy to play any role assigned to him by the manager but prefers playing further upfield.
The French international has battled niggling injuries from last season and missed a huge chunk of the club's matches this campaign, but he is back and firing once again having shaken off the troubles.
The former Leicester man started against Aston Villa on Wednesday and was once again in the lineup against Everton on Saturday as he marches to full fitness.
Speaking to the club's official website, he indicated he was comfortable playing any midfield role assigned to him, considering the club boasts of talented midfielders.
"It can be similar because usually, we play with one midfielder behind and two in front so in this case, it’s similar to what I was doing under Sarri," he explained.
"Sometimes we can switch a midfielder and play with two deeper like I play with the [France] national team, but every midfielder in this team can play every role,"
"My role can change but it’s about playing wherever the manager asks me to play. I enjoy playing further forward but what makes me most happy is to get good results for the team,"
His (Kante) return to full fitness has given Frank Lampard more of a selection headache, with Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic having formed a telepathic partnership in his absence.
Manager Frank Lampard has started the trio on a number of occasions to a great effect, but more often than not has to sacrifice one of the attacking talents upfront.
