Kaizer Chiefs’ man of the moment Samir Nurkovic has banged into the top scorers chart - thanks to last weekend’s 5-3 pounding of Bloemfontein Celtic.
The big Serbian, now nicknamed “Kokota Piano”, scored a hattrick to mark eight goals in 11 games. The 27-year-old could be on a higher tally of goals if he had not suffered an injury that kept him out for two games.
The PSL’s sharpshooters list has three players tied on top spot though. Nurkovic shares the throne with Highlands Park’s Peter Shalulile, Golden Arrows’ Knox Mutizwa.
Following closely on six goals is the duo of Kermit Erasmus (Cape Town City) and AmaZulu’s Bonginkosi Ntuli.
Top five list:
- Nurkovic (eight)
- Peter Shalulile (eight)
- Knox Mutizwa (eight)
- Kermit Erasmus (six)
- Bonginkosi Ntuli (Six).
Last season's final list:
- Mwape Musonda (Leopards): 16
- Thembinkosi Lorch (Pirates): nine
- Tshegofatso Mabasa (Celtic): nine
- Gift Motupa (Wits): nine
- Lebohang Maboe (Sundowns): eight.
