Kenya’s Harambee Stars will be up against Eritrea in the semi-finals of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup on Tuesday 17 December at Lugogo Complex-Kampala with head coach Francis Kimanzi asserting that they are ready for the test.
Stars have won all their group games against Tanzania, Sudan, and Zanzibar, and will be hoping to carry the momentum into the semis where they will be up against a side that finished second in Group A with seven points after picking victories against Djibouti and Burundi, drawing with Somalia and losing 2-0 to hosts Uganda.
As quoted by the Federation website, Kimanzi said he was so far impressed with the outing in Kampala and have no injury concerns ahead of the tie.
“I was happy with not only the result but also the performance in our first three matches. We have had enough time for recovery and we’re now set, hopefully, we will go all the way.
“We don’t have any injury concerns at the moment. The team is fit and ready,” opined Kimanzi.
Eritrea is returning to the Senior Challenge Cup after 12 years, having been banned from the competition after the 2012 showpiece in Kampala.
