Mamelodi Sundowns coach has made a case for Motjeka Madisha while also acknowledging Thulani Hlatshwayo and Buhle Mkhwanazi's starting places in Bafana Bafana's central defence.
Mosimane revealed his thoughts last weekend after leading Sundowns in a 2-1 win over Maritzburg United in the 2019 Telkom Knockout final.
“He is developing, he is coming up very well. You wish he stays humble on his performance. You know I always talk for my players, him and Mosa (Lebusa) are the two best centre backs in the country,” Mosimane said to Soccer Laduma.
Madisha’s 10 starts this season:
- 2-0 win over SuperSport
- 1-1 vs draw Chippa
- 2-1 win over Celtic
- 2-1 win over Maritzburg
- 2-1 win over Leopards
- 1-0 win over Park
- 2-1 loss vs Chiefs
- 0-0 draw vs Baroka
- 3-2 loss vs Arrows
- 1-0 win over AmaZulu
- 3-1 win over Stellies.
“I always say yes we have good centre backs in Tyson (Thulani Hlatshwayo) and Buhle (Mkhwanazi), make no mistake. But I am saying we are blessed with these two also – that any day, any time, they can play. They have played against Wydad and they can play wherever and they keep zero behind. That says they are at the right level.”
“I am happy that Buhle and Tyson are playing international matches because we need that. We are blessed with four centre backs and it’s the same with midfielders. We have Kamohelo (Mokotjo), (Bongani) Zungu, Dean Furman – we have so much in the country,” Pitso added.
Meanwhile, tonight is a chance to see all the above names meet on the grass. Sundowns take on Bidvest Wits in Braamfontein at 19:30 tonight.
