Nkana missed an opportunity to go top of the table after they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Sensational Zanaco in a rescheduled week 8 encounter played this afternoon at Sunset Stadium.

Zanaco settled quickly and took the lead just seven minutes into the match, Enerst Mbewe with a well-taken finish inside the area.

Nkana becomes more involved in the game shortly after going down with Abuya controlling the midfield, Kelvin Mubanga being a menace on the wing and Mbombo a threat up front as usual but somehow Zanaco kept them out.

Nkana's best chance in the first half fell to Ronald Kampamba but the Nkana Landlord failed to beat Toaster Nsabata in the Zanaco goal as the later produced a brilliant save to make sure Zanaco went to the break leading 1-0.

Chabinga made two quick changes first withdrawing Abuya for Chisamba Lungu and later bringing in Martin Dzillah for Ronald Kampamba.

Soutra Tshimenga pulled one the back in the 65th minute, Substitute Martin Dzillah brought down a high ball for Mbombo who then gave Tshimenga with a beautiful backheel and the Congolese winger made no mistake, 2-1.

The match was full of emotions and action-packed in the last 20 minutes but Zanaco managed to hold on and win their first game in eight league matches to move out of the relegation zone while Nkana missed out on a chance to go top and take charge of the log.

At Edwin Imboela Zesco United were handed their second defeat in a row, Losing 1-0 to High Flying Nkwazi in a rescheduled week 13 fixture played this afternoon in Lusaka.
