Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has indicated Reiss Nelson might be out injured for long, following an incident in training.
Nelson was expected to make the starting XI at home against Sheffield on Saturday but suffered an injury during routine warm-ups.
Speaking after the match, Arteta said 'it was not looking good', and they are waiting on the doctors to make a full assessment.
"No, we had an incident in training. The doctors are still deciding how long it's going to take, but it's not looking good," he said when asked on Nelson's injury.
This latest injury comes as a huge setback for Arteta, who has a number of players out injured especially at the back.
Bukayo Saka and Maitland-Niles have been forced to slot into full-backs in the absence of Sead Kolasinac, Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin, as they all recover from various injuries.
The Gunners travel to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night for yet another Premier League clash, hoping to avenge their 2-1 home loss a few weeks ago.
They will once again miss the services of captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is serving a three-match ban following his red card against Crystal Palace last week.
