Despite a section of Manchester United fans still hanging on the hopes that striker Marcus Rashford might feature in their Sunday affair against Liverpool, it is now coming out that the striker won’t be in contention in the game.
Apart from the Liverpool game, the Telegraph early on Sunday reported that the England international is expected to miss a good chunk of games this season after he aggravated a back complaint during United’s midweek FA Cup win over Wolves.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had already ruled the player out of the Liverpool game but a chunk of the club fans thought it was the normal mind games that are always played with managers when they are about to go into big games.
There has been no official word from United on the time Rashford will take to be on the sidelines but the news will be a blow for United who is doing all they can to make it to the Champions League next season.
Rashford has started all the games for United this season and has been a major positive in their unconvincing season where he has bagged 14 league goals.
The news will be a setback for England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of the European Championships later this summer.
