Tanzania Under 20 national team on Sunday came from a goal down to pip their Ugandan counterparts 2-1 in the preliminary round of the 2020 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers at National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
Uganda was the first off the blocks with Juliet Nalukenge notching the opener before Tanzania levelled through Diana Msewa. Clement Opa scored the winner to give the hosts the advantage ahead of February 2 return leg in Kampala.
The two teams drew blanks in the first half before the dangerous Nalukenge gave the visitors the lead three minutes after the break. Tanzania drew level through Msewa in the 58th minute and ensured that they get the advantage through Opa.
The winner of this tie will face the either Senegal or Sierra Leone in the first round.
