East Africa to the world!
Aston Villa has confirmed the signing of Mbwana Samatta from Genk.
The 27-year-old had penned a four-and-half-year deal with 18th placed Premier League team, but cannot feature for them until he gets a work permit and international clearance.
Samatta has 10 goals to his name for Genk in all competitions this season, and it might interest you to know that he even has one against English giants Liverpool in the Champions League!
Ahead of his signing, Villa manager Dean Smith spoke highly of him saying: "I'm really pleased we have managed to bring Mbwana to the club. He has scored goals throughout his career and I'm looking forward to working with him."
With good feet and form in front of goal, we all expect Samatta, being the first Tanzanian to play in the Premier League, to hit the ground running once he gets his work permit sorted.
All the best, Mbwana Samatta! 🇹🇿
