This is one of the deals that has been dragged since the summer of 2019 to this transfer window, with Manchester United the team said to be slowing down negotiations with Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes.
With his agent Jorge Mendes talking about a move from Portugal for his client, media outlets in England are now reporting that a deal will be reached as soon as next week before the window closes on Friday the 31st.
Fernandes starred in Primeira Liga with 20 goals and 13 assists in 2018-19 before helping Portugal to Nations League glory.
The 25-year-old is on course to better those stats this term, but United has been tipped to prise him away from Sporting before the end of the campaign.
Under contract at the Estadio Jose Alvalade until 2023, Fernandes is reportedly valued at around £65m by Sporting.
Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, and Liverpool have previously been credited with an interest.
