Feyenoord set to go for Chelsea's Lewis Baker if they fail to sign Besiktas' Oguzhan Ozyakup

Feyenoord are reportedly considering Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker as a back-up plan to Besiktas's Oguzhan Ozyakup if they fail to secure a deal for the Turkey international.

The Eredivisie side have been on the market in search of a suitable central midfielder to bolster the midfield before the January transfer window closes.

The Rotterdam-based club have expressed their interest in Ozyakup and are quite confident that would be able to secure his services on a possible loan deal.

However, if all else fails to sign the Turkish player then Feyenoord are expected to go for Baker according Dutch publication De Telegraaf.

The 24-year-old was shipped out on loan to Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf for the first half of the 2019/20 season before being recalled by Chelsea this month.

If Feyenoord secure the English player then this would be the second time that Baker returns to the Netherlands following his spell at Vitesse between 2015 and 2017.

It is yet to be seen what will come of the loan move for either player.
