Tanzanian’s went crazy after it emerged that striker Mbwana Samatta had been handed his Aton Villa debut against Leicester City in the EFL Cup.
Samatta, a January signing from Belgian side RC Genk, started the game as Villa looked to build on the 1-1 draw they managed in the first leg.
Tanzania’s could wait to cheer their national team captain his home town of Mbagala organizing a viewing party that attracted close to 4 Million people.
Samatta's father admitted to having shed a tear when he saw his son in the starting team with people who grew with the player narrating how they saw him grow.
Things even went more ballistic when Villa made it to the final of the competition with the Tanzanians taking it to social media to celebrate their hero.
Samatta was withdrawn in the 67th minute for Keinan Davies with Egyptian Trezeguet coming from the bench to score the winner in the dying minutes; a goal that saw the home fans invade the pitch after the final whistle.
