Solskjaer reveals how Bruno Fernandes signing will affect Paul Pogba

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that new signing Bruno Fernandes has what it takes to play in the same midfield as Paul Pogba.

Fernandes was a January signing from Portuguese outfit Sporting CP on a 55m euros (£47m) deal but add-ons could increase the overall cost to 80m euros (£67.7m).

Injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay left United short of personnel in midfield but they will have a number of options once the duo return to full fitness.

Solskjaer was asked how the arrival of Fernandes affects Pogba, "Bruno can play with good players yes and Bruno is… he can do absolutely everything apart from… he’s my size, so he can’t… he is probably not a target man in the box but he is such a good footballer.

"He can play with good players around him, he can play in a three man midfield, he can play as a 10 he can play in off the side, he can play in a diamond, we will give him his time to find his best position.

"We want to try to build towards a team that will challenge for the title and trophies, so we want to keep our best players. We can play them together."
