Harambee Stars winger Ayub Timbe will wear the number 25 jersey at English Championship side Reading FC.
The numbers were confirmed by Reading in a tweet with another new acquisition in Felipe Araruna handed jersey number 20.
Jersey number 25 is now a common number in the Masika family with his younger brother Musa Masika wearing having the same jersey number at Kenyan Premier League side Wazito FC.
Timbe signed for Reading on deadline day on a six months’ loan deal from Chinese Super League side Beijing Renhe.
Masika had been training with Mark Bowen’s first team on the Hogwood Park pitches in the past weeks before inking the deal with the coach describing him as ‘a precocious talent’.
Timbe started his footballing career at Anderlecht from the age of 13 and continued his footballing education in the youth ranks of Beerschot AC before signing professional terms at Genk in 2010.
With less game time at Genk, the winger moved to Lierse in 2014 on a loan deal before making it permanent two years later. He was to join Beijing Renhe in 2017 and had a loan deal with Heilongjiang FC in China too.
