FA Cup: What happened last night?

With the Premier League break on, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Spurs had to play FA Cup replays after their draws in the first leg of the fourth round, before heading for the break.

The replay started last night, and it was nothing short of last-minute drama and unbelievable comebacks.

An own goal saw Liverpool’s U23 edge narrowly past Shrewsbury, with the Klopp opting to play the youngsters with the first team away on the PL break. The Reds will now face Chelsea in the next round.

Wayne Rooney and Derby will face Man United in the fifth round after the Rams beat Northampton 4-2, and Birmingham managed a last-minute goal against Coventry and won 4-1 on penalties after extra time.

Newcastle lost a 2-0 goal lead and allowed Oxford United back in the game with just six minutes to go, but the Magpies managed a goal through Allan Saint-Maximin in extra time to win the tie.

Tottenham plays Southampton in the remaining fourth-round replay today, with the winners at home to Norwich in the fifth round.
