Victor Wanyama omitted from Spurs Champions League squad

Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama has been omitted from Tottenham Hotspur Champions League squad.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho instead chose to pick goalkeeper Michel Vorm in place for Wanyama with the Portuguese saying he felt safe with the keeper than Wanyama; Vorm inclusion bringing Spurs number of keepers in the list to four with youngster Alfie Whiteman also included.

"I feel safer by having Michel (Vorm) on the list, I don't want the risk of losing Paulo or Hugo. Victor is from a position where we have lots of Players-Winks, Dier, Skipp, Gedson," Mourinho said.

There are not many changes in the Spurs team with Danny Rose and Christian Eriksen being the other omissions; their places taken by Steven Bergwijn and Gedson Fernandes.

As per usual, there are two lists. List A comprises a maximum of 25 players, two of which must be goalkeepers. List B, by contrast, contains players born after 1998 who have been at the club for at least two years.
