Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says CAF Champions League draws are repetitive while also expecting different circumstances.
As reported here on Futaa last night, Sundowns were drawn against the mighty Al Ahly for the 2020 CAF Champions League quarter-finals. Sundowns will first travel to Cairo before hosting the eight-time champions.
“Yeah, unbelievable draw, this looks like whatever Sundowns do with teams we follow the same teams again.
“It’s what happened with WAC (Wydad Casablanca). We’ve been getting WAC all the time in our group,” Mosimane told Far Post.
Sundowns’ last meeting with Ahly was a 5-1 aggregate trashing that began with a 1-0 loss in Egypt before smacking them 5-0 in Pretoria.
“Now the story begins of Al Ahly now – the same as last year. Yeah, same teams, different games, different years with a different mentality – different moods.
“I believe that first Al Ahly did not know us and did not respect us, but after the result last year – we knocked them out in the quarterfinals, the mood is different. They’ll prepare more for us,” Mosimane concluded.
