Football agent Mino Raiola has given reasons why his client Erling Haaland chose Borussia Dortmund instead of English giants Manchester United.
The Norwegian was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in the January window but chose Dortmund and according to Raiola the move for the striker was well calculated.
“It is January 1st, the theatre opens, the curtain goes up and the performance can start. But behind the scenes, the main actors have been busy rehearsing for six months. It is the same with us.
“I was busy with Erling Haaland for almost a year. His father is closely involved. I have spoken to a number of clubs, listened to plans, seen and negotiated amounts. This allowed Erling to make a well-considered decision,” Raiola told Sport Voetbalmagazine.
The 19-year old has started life in Dortmund n some thrilling fashion where he has scored eight goals in just 180 minutes of football.
Apart from United, there were a series of clubs who were interested in the player but its Dortmund who met his €20m release clause.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc previously revealed that one of the ways they convinced Haaland to join was by showing him a video of their famous Yellow Wall.
