Former Manchester United star Ravel Morrison receives his first call-up to the Jamaica national team

Traveled midfielder Ravel Morrison is set to make his international debut for Jamaica next month after receiving his first call-up for the Caribbean side.

Morrison who has had a troubled career was handed the call up as the nation gears to play in a friendly against Catalonia in Spain next month.

The 27-year-old is currently in the books of Championship side Middleborough on loan from league side Sheffield United in January.

He has represented England at various youth levels but was never selected for the senior side and apart from Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, he has had an unsuccessful spell following at the likes of West Ham, Cardiff, and Lazio.

Jamaica is preparing for World Cup 2022 qualifying and hope the addition of Morrison to their ranks will boost their chances with the player having held discussions with Jamaica chief Roy Simpson and is line to play his first game on March 30th, when the team travel to Barcelona. Morrison, who was born in Manchester, gained Jamaican citizenship in 2018.

Morrison had been tipped as a star of the future but he has failed to make the impact that was hoped for him with Boro being the tenth club of his career.
