Timothy Weah's unlucky streak since moving to Lille continued on Sunday as he suffered another injury setback in a Ligue 1 match against Olympique de Marseille.
Weah joined the northern France-based club from Paris St Germain in June last year as he sought more playing time. He suffered a hamstring injury after a single game and has been away from the action for almost five and a half months.
The US international, son of African football legend and Liberia president George Weah, made his first appearance for his new club ina Ligue 1 on Sunday as he was sent on in 80th minute.
The forward later took to his Instagram page and said that he was back to the doctor's room.
Later, Lille confirmed the disappointing news through a press release stating that Weah was undergoing rehabilitation with the club's medical staff.
"After the consultation, the medical staff together with the club management, will set up a rehabilitation programme for Timothy Weah," wrote the club.
It is understood that Weah aggravated his hamstring injury and will be out for unspecified period of time.
