🇹🇿 🦁 Unstoppable Simba open 15-point gap

Simba SC can now start putting the celebratory champagne on ice!

This was the mood at the National Stadium on Tuesday evening as Meddie Kagere ensured that Wasimbazi secured all the three points in a Tanzania Premier League match against Kagera Sugar.

The Rwandese international bagged the all-important goal in the 61st minute after skipper John Bocco had been fouled in the danger zone.

Simba now have 59 points, 15 better than second-placed Azam, after 23 matches. Azam plays their 23rd match later on Wednesday away at Ndanda.

Singida woes

In other matches played on Tuesday, stuttering Yanga was held by Polisi at Ushirika grounds and have failed to close their gap with Azam. They remain fourth with 40 points.

In Mwanza, Mbao FC compounded Singida United's woe by hammering them 3-1 while Mbeya City beat visiting Lipuli FC2-1. Coastal Union were shocked 1-2 by Ruvu Shooting as JKT and Biashara United played to a goalless draw.

In the final match of the day, Namungo beat KMC 2-1 at Majaliwa Grounds.
