Lucas Tousart's first-half goal was good enough to hand Lyon a rather shocking home win as they secured a 1-0 victory over Juventus in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg at Groupama stadium.
Cristiano Ronaldo had accumulated 65 goals in the knockout stages before the away fixture and it wasn't surprising to see him go for goal early, however it wasn't hos night as his shot went wide off the post - almost saved by Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.
But it was Lyon who should have gone ahead on 21 minutes when Hossem Aouar's corner found Karl Toko Ekambi after the near post and his back-header bounced off the upright before Juventus scrambled clear.
Moussa Dembele was expected to do better for his side when he had a solid chance earlier in the game but his effort wasn't enough.
Ronaldo proved once again with his quality when he managed to cut Leo Dubois before his effort went wide again but that was Juventus' closest call to goal in the game.
Toko Ekambi had a rather good night at the office and he should have found the back of the net with the two solid efforts he had a goal, both of which went over the post - frustrating.
Juventus looked dangerous towards the end of the game as Higuain and Dybala both had chances to find the equaliser for the visitors but it wasn't meant to be for the travelling side - Dybala had two opportunities to score.
However, it was Lyon with the advantage at Groupama as they manage to hold on tight as they went to secure their first-ever victory over Juventus in the Champions League.
Juventus will hope to turn it around when Lyon visit Turin in the second-leg of the same fixture.
