The fiery Kariakoo Derby played between Yanga and Simba on Sunday was attended by 59,325 fans.
Yanga, who were the hosts, netted a whopping TSh 545,422,000 ($236,700) from the ticket sales.
A lone Bernard Morrison strike was the difference as Yanga beat their arch-rivals in the fiercely contested derby. Simba however remain on top of the Tanzanian Premier League with 68 points, 17 ahead of second-placed Azam. Yanga are third with 50 points.
The first derby that was hosted by Simba was attended by 57,000 fans netting TZsh 539m ($234,300).
Sunday's derby was attended by Tanzania President John Pombe Magufuli, CAF president Ahmad among other dignitaries.
