😷 πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡³ Senegal suspends all sporting activities over coronavirus outbreak

Senegal on Saturday suspended all sporting activities in the country for a period of one month as they step up efforts to stem the spread of the highly contagious coronavirus.

This decision was announced by the Minister of Sports Matar Ba after a high-level meeting that brought together the country's health, security and sports officials.

Senegal is one of the most affected countries in Africa with 24 confirmed infection cases. Egypt has the highest infection on the continent with 110 cases.

CAF on Saturday postponed the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches that were set to be played between March 25 and 31 across the continent.

Senegal is just the latest country to suspend sporting activities with dozens of other countries on virtual lockdown.

Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has spread to at least 156 countries infecting 162,000 people and left 6,000 dead.
