Lampard not worried about Chelsea players' fitness despite lack of regular training

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been keeping in touch with the rest of his squad even as they continue to stay indoors due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The team was forced to go into self-isolation after Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for the virus on March 12th, even though he has now fully recovered.

Lampard, who spoke to the club's official website, underlined the importance of keeping in touch with the team during the current challenging moments.

"It’s tough in the current climate," Frank said

"We’ve been at home for a long time now, self-isolating and showing concern for everybody but we are doing the right thing,"

"I’ve been in touch with the players. They all know that I’m there for them, both individually and collectively, and these are tough times both physically and emotionally. So we have to be there for the players and that’s what we have been doing,"  he added.

Lampard further said he had full trust in his players as they continue working from their respective homes using personal programs.

"I have no concerns with the players losing motivation and I know they will be doing the basics right at home in terms of their fitness and looking after themselves in these times,"

The English Premier League, just like other major leagues across Europe, is currently suspended due to the pandemic and is expected to resume on April 30th.
