Cesc Fàbregas announced himself on the Champions League stage exactly 14 years ago today as Arsenal beat Juventus 2-0 in the first leg of the pair's quarterfinal tie.
It was a symbolic night for the Gunners as their talented young Spaniard stepped into ex-Arsenal skipper Patrick Vieira's proverbial boots and got the better of the legendary Frenchman on the night. It was Vieira's first match back at Highbury since leaving the club.

Arsenal's clean sheet on the night was their seventh consecutive shutout in the competition and it was one that set them on their way to the semifinals where they prevailed over Villarreal. Wenger's men eventually lost in the final to Barcelona in Paris.
