Dutch-born Ghanaian Myron Boadu has dismissed talks that claim he was approached by the Ghana national team, Ghanasoccernet reported.
Boadu who is eligible to represent Ghana through his parents can not play for the Black Stars as he made his debut for the Netherlands in a Uefa Euro 2020 qualifier against Estonia.
“No, actually not," Boadu said via his club's official website.
"I, my parents and my agent have never had a call or anything [from Ghana officials].
"So I didn’t have to choose. In the end, it all went quickly with Oranje.”
The teenager will have to wait for another opportunity to play for the Oranje as the Euros were postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"That is a shame, of course. But health is the most important thing," he said.
"The pre-selection does show that the national coach has confidence in me.”
