English Premier League side Chelsea FC are in talks with striker Tammy Abraham over a new contract with the Blues also keen in triggering Olivier Giroud’s extension.
Abraham has been one of the key figures at Stamford Bridge this season scoring 15 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions this season but his progress was hampered by an injury that had ruled him out before the coronavirus break.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, talks remain ongoing between Chelsea's representatives and Abraham’s agent over a deal that would keep him at the club until 2025.
Apart from Abraham, the club is keen in keeping French striker Olivier Giroud for another year despite the player having come close in leaving the club in January.
Giroud’s stay is to help keep Abraham on toes as the club seeks for other options in the market should they find suitable players; Giroud said to be attracting interest from Serie A side Inter Milan.
The club is being linked with Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona with forward Hakim Ziyech expected at Stamford Bridge from July 1st.
Chelsea will trigger Olivier Giroud contract extension. He’s going to sign until June 2021 and will not be more ‘free agent’ on next summer. Talks still on with Tammy Abraham to extend his contract until June 2025. 🔵 #CFC #Chelsea #transfers
