Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is set to be handed a new contract by the NFF with new conditions.
Notably, Rohr will be given the mandate to promote home-based players to the Nigerian national team. And Azeez Audu Mohammed, the Al Fashir FC coach of Sudan has backed the decision of NFF to award a new contract to Rohr and he believes it will benefit Nigeria Football. Mohammed believes a number of home-based players will have the opportunity to make it to the national team.
"He should continue, they should give him the new and it good if he will monitor the league," he said as quoted by brila.net.
"Because if all our players are coming from abroad then it would be difficult to motivate the home base players. And when the players are aware that the national team coach is coming to watch the league games with the hope of picking players, then the players will surely play well and this will surely rob off on the quality of play in the league," he added.
