Thierry Henry is idolized at Arsenal for his goal-scoring exploits and French flair that delivered great success for the North London club.
Futaa's latest Premier League icons series examines and celebrates the current all-time leading goalscorers of the traditional "big six" from England's top-flight.
Henry is Arsenal's all-time record goal-scorer and one of only two players in history to hit 20+ goals in five consecutive English top-flight seasons, a stat that reinforces his brilliant longevity. His tally of 175 Premier League goals places him sixth on the all-time scoring charts; only Wayne Rooney & Sergio Agüero have scored more goals for a single Premier League club than the Gunners legend.
Another testament to Henry's quality and completeness as a footballer is the fact that his assists tally (20) in the 2002-03 season is a record number to this day.
⚽️ Henry: 1999-2012
Arriving as a goal-shy winger from Juventus in 1999, no-one quite knew how Thierry Henry would terrorize defenders throughout his Premier League career. It took him a while to get going, but once he was up and running, almost no-one could catch the man who had "Va Va Voom" in his boots.
Henry won four Premier League Golden Boots, the most of any player, and he was also crowned as the Premier League player of the season on two occasions. He even returned to Arsenal for a second spell on loan in the 2011-12 campaign, memorably scoring the only goal against Leeds in the FA Cup in a heroic substitute appearance that sent the Emirates into raptures. His final goal for the club came away to Sunderland when he turned home an Andrey Arshavin cross to net the winner in stoppage time. A fitting send-off.
