Ukrainian club quarantined after 25 test positive for COVID-19

Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv has been forced to go into quarantine after 25 people, among the players and staff, tested positive for COVID-19.

This was revealed on Tuesday by the club and the country's Premier League, following tests that were carried out on Monday, June 1.

Training has now been suspended as the affected individuals are all quarantined, and are set to remain in isolation for at least two weeks.

The club confirmed they tested 65 individuals, even though none of them had signs and symptoms of the virus.

Lviv further called on all clubs, both in Ukraine and the rest of Europe, to test their players as 'no one is insured from the risk of infected'.

The Ukrainian League is expected to continue this week, but Lviv's next two fixtures have been canceled as a result.

The country is one of the most-hit countries in Europe, with more than 24,000 reported cases of the coronavirus and over 720 deaths from the illness.
