FC Copenhagen coach Ståle Solbakken had downplayed reports that Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey will be making his way back to the club.
The 25-year-old has been on the hunt for a new home and is hoping he will secure a deal in the transfer window and reports have already linked him back to Copenhagen.
“He said he wants to go home [to Copenhagen],” Solbakken told Denmark’s BT.
When asked if the Danish club has the budget to sign Amartey, Solbakken said: “No, we don’t, not [even] close.”
“But I don’t think he’s going to be expensive in the transfer market because Leicester want to get rid of his salary. But I don’t think it’s going to be here and now.”
