Rwanda Premier League side Rayon Sports on Wednesday announced the signing of former APR forward Issa Bigirimana on a two-year contract.
Bigirimana is the latest addition to Rayon whpo are rebuilding after their event-filled 2020/21 season that saw a number of players leave the club and Sadate Munyakazi, their club president, momentarily suspended from football activities.
Bigirimana spent the last six months with another high-spending side Police FC but his stay was not made permanent.
“Issa [Bigirimana] is officially now our player,” said club spokesperson Jean-Paul Nkurunziza. “We signed him on a two-year deal, we look forward to getting the best out of his scoring instinct.”
It is understood that Rayon has also reached a deal with international goalkeeper Oliver Kwizera and the signing will be announced in the coming days.
Kwizera joins from Gasogi United and has also played for APR before.
Bigirimana joins Togolese striker Alex Harlley, Burundian Arsene Nihoreho, Sadjati Niyonkuru from Marines and Christophe Uwiringiyimana from relegated side Gicumbi as the latest siging for the Blues.
Reports also indicate that former Gor Mahia defender Karim ‘Makenzi’ Nizigiyimana and Rwanda international forward Muhadjiri Hakizimana could soon join the nine-time champions.
