The Egyptian FA has announced that the Egyptian Premier League will now resume on August 6 instead of August 7 as earlier reported.
The federation said that changes were necessitated by the Egypt senate elections set for August 7 which will have security agencies stretched.
Football activities in the North African nation will resume after almost five months break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The federation is looking to complete the season by the end of August with the fixtures to be released in the coming days by the Competition Committee.
The second phase, which will start depending on the CAF’s schedule, will probably take place by the start of September.
Meanwhile, the fate of the lower leagues hasn’t been decided yet.
