πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ Ayub Timbe's Reading set to release ten players

Ayub Timbe’s future at Reading FC remains in doubt after head coach Mark Bowen confirmed that they are set to lose ten players in the coming window.

Timbe had signed an initial six-month loan deal at Reading in January from parent club Beijing Renhe but the deal was extended until the end of the season after the coronavirus had interrupted the season.

The Kenyan winger has rarely been a starter in the team and reports indicate that he might be heading back to China to begin his season with Renhe.

Speaking after their final game against Swansea, Bowen said: "When the constraints are there, you've got to wait for other clubs to make decisions.

"You want your business done early so we have a squad together but we'll have to be patient. Things have got to change - there has been an acceptance of mediocrity for too long

"I came in with the job of rebuilding the club and the philosophy so I can't wait to get started next year to get my players in, my team together with maybe a stronger and different philosophy.

"I think we'll possibly have ten players leaving so it's a really important time for the club.”

Bowen further confirmed that Ovie Ejaria may not be returning to the club next season and another nine might follow him outside the door.

The club finished 14th in the Championship with 56 points.
