Premier League: Chelsea become the third club to reach 2000 points 

Chelsea became the third club to reach 2000 points in the Premier League since First Division was rebranded following a 3-1 victory over Brighton. 

Chelsea started their 2020/21 campaign with an away victory thanks to Jorginho's penalty before Reece James made it 2-0. Kurt Zouma's deflected shot helped the Blues to a 3-1 victory with Leandro Trossard scoring the consolation goal for the visitors. 

The victory saw Chelsea join Arsenal and Manchester United in the list of teams to have amassed 2000 points in the Premier League era.
