🚨 Numba Mumamba appointed Zesco United head coach

Zesco United have confirmed Numba Mumamba as their new head coach on a three-year contract.

Mumamba is now expected to lead the African giants for the 2020/2021 FAZ/MTN Super League season.

The 42-year-old is an experienced manager, having won FAZ/MTN Super League title in 2016, Absa Cup championship in 2017, and reached the group stage of both the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

ZESCO United Chief Executive Officer Richard Mulenga, in his welcoming message, said:

“Mumamba is one of the finest young coaches to have emerged from the Zambian game in recent years. He has managed at the top level of Zambian football and he knows the domestic game very well,"

Mumamba replaces George Lwandamina, who left the club early in the week following a mutual agreement.

Meanwhile, Mumamba will be assisted by former Young Africans and Buildcon Football Club assistant coach, Noel Mwandila.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Noel Mwandila as 1st assistant coach to Mumamba. I wish to further announce that Emmanuel Siwale remains 2nd assistant to our new coach,” Mulenga concluded.

Mumamba also enjoyed success as a player and represented Zambia in the 2000 and 2006 African Cup of Nations editions.
