Giroud ready to fight for his place at Chelsea

Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud says he is ready to fight for his place following the arrival of Timo Werner this summer.

Giroud says he is willing to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place but conceded his situation may be reassessed during the January transfer window. Following the arrival of Timo Werner, the Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order at the Stamford Bridge which has also been catalyzed by the emergence of Tammy Abraham.

"I’ve written a book called. Always Believe It’ so I’m not going to go anywhere without a fight," Giroud said when quizzed on his future.

"There is a competition but I will fight and we saw the rewards of that at the end of last season. I am convinced that I have a role to play at Chelsea. We will see in January."
