Troy Deeney picks Wolves' Raul Jimenez in his top five list of best Premier League strikers

Watford captain Troy Deeney has picked Wolves' Raul Jimenez as one of the top five Premier Leagues strikers in his opinion.

Jimenez has already scored himself four goals this season including a cracker in Wolves' 1-1 draw to Newcastle United at the weekend; capitalising on his 27 goals from last season.

The Mexican international has since registered 48 goals from 108 appearances signing from Portuguese side Benfica in the summer of 2018.

Wolves and Watford met in a FA Cup semifinal where the Hornets eventually secured a 3-2 victory after extra time and Jimenez had scored in that game and put on his iconic mask celebration.

Deeney had scored the equaliser in that game and had a lot to say in the post-match interview and said: “I’m glad he put that mask on – he could wear it out now as well, now he’s a loser. So, enjoy the mask – we got the victory.”

However, the skipper seems to highly rate the Mexican and included him in the list alongside Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, Jamie Vardy and Roberto Firmino.

Deeney on Jimenez: “He’s a very good player. His work-rate across the front is remarkable. He doesn’t give defenders a moment’s peace. He can link play. I think he’s got the ability to grow and be a much better all-round player.”

“He’s only going to get better and I think Wolves will have a problem keeping him if they don’t get in the top six in the next 18 months or so.”
