Derby County register interest in Newcastle United's Matty Longstaff

Derby County are reportedly interested in making a January move for Newcastle United midfielder Matty Longstaff according to Sunday Mirror reports.

The Rams, on the other hand, are in dire need of a change as they are currently at the bottom of the Championship standings and need to maintain their status and avoid dropping to League One.

The club still hasn't retained the services of the manager but reports claim the new technical director Steve McClaren is hoping to complete some moves in the January window.

According to Sunday Mirror, Derby could make a quick loan move for Longstaff who has struggled for game time under Steve Bruce.

The 20-year-old signed a new two-year deal after his previous contract had expired at the end of the 2019/20 season.

The Chronicle also reported that the youngster's new agents are the same ones that represent Wayne Rooney and this could potentially mean something for the club.
