Bayern Munich has received a timely boost with the news that defender Davies Alphonso will return to action in their Champions League home game against Lokomotiv Moscow on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old who had a breakthrough season with Bayern last season has been out of action since October with an ankle injury and according to coach Hansi Flick, the Canadian international will feature in the game.
"He (Davies) is back in the squad, all Bayern fans can look forward to that and it's planned that he will play," Flick said Tuesday in his press briefing.
Despite the welcome news for Davies, Bayern is still without the services of Germany star Joshua Kimmich until at least January, while Corentin Tolisso is not yet fit, but may be ready for Saturday's league game at FC Union Berlin. Another player who is still out being Javi Martinez is also carrying a knock.
In the Wednesday game, Flick confirmed that 24-year-old Spanish midfielder Marc Roca will partner Leon Goretzka with the defending champions having already qualified for the next round.
Bayern had their 15-match winning run in Europe ended last week when a weakened side drew 1-1 at Atletico Madrid.
