English Premier League giants Liverpool are set to hand star man Mohammed Salah a new bumper deal.
Salah had created some debate late last week when he claimed that he wasn’t ruling out a move away from the club with his friend and Egyptian legend Mohammed Aboutrika stirring the rumours with a claim that the player wasn’t happy at Anfield.
But in the latest reports from Goal reporter Neil Jones, The Reds were keen to improve his current deal which runs out in 2023.
“Salah’s contract at Anfield, worth around £200,000-a-week, expires in the summer of 2023, and sources have told Goal the club are certain to offer an improved one,” Jones wrote on Tuesday.
The importance of Salah for the club has been seen in his goal scoring exploits where he has already bagged 16 (in all competitions) this season, 13 which have come in the Premier League; the player hoping that he can bag his third Golden Boot in four-seasons since arriving from AS Roma.
In an interview with Spanish publication AS, Salah complained about not being made captain for the Champions League and said his future was in Liverpool’s hands.
