English Premier League giants Liverpool are calm about reports that ahs linked striker Mohammed Salah with a move away from the club.
Salah caused a stir late last year when he claimed that he was open to leaving Anfield and despite his sentiments causing a stir among the club faithful’ transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that the player’s agent is keen to hold new contract talks with the club.
“In this moment, interest? For sure, because, obviously, we’re talking about a fantastic player so it’s impossible for any club not to be interested in him. But at the moment, there is nothing advanced with this agent or with Liverpool.
“Liverpool has not received anything from these clubs, so they were a bit surprised, but they know that what Salah said is ‘one day I would like to play in these clubs’.
“(This) is normal because we’re talking about two major clubs, Real Madrid and Barcelona, also to change leagues. His agent is negotiating with the club to understand what’s going on for the (new) contract,” Romano told GMS.
Salah's current deal at Anfield runs in the summer of 2023 and the club is keen in tying him for a longer period after securing the future of some of its established players like Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho.
